Attractive journey connecting tourism to explore Muong culture

With the promotion and support from tourism businesses and travel agencies, a number of tours and tourist routes in the province have been built, contributing to diversifying experiential activities and extending the length of stay at destinations. The Muong Cultural Space Museum is one of two private museums in the province that preserve indigenous cultural values. The destination attracts visitors with unique cultural stories, immersing them in the living space of ancient Vietnamese people, recreating the ancient Muong social life and an exhibition area with over 3,000 artifacts showing the lifestyle, customs, socio-economics, and unique culture of the Muong people. In addition, visitors can also visit the art museum with thousands of paintings, ceramics, sculptures... created by artists, inspired by the Muong cultural identity, with the desire to introduce this unique culture to domestic and international visitors.

Currently, the Muong Cultural Space Museum has developed additional accompanying products and services, such as restaurants and community accommodation. Many other activities provided by the destination also bring memorable experiences such as: pounding rice, weaving, spinning, festivals and some folk games imbued with the spiritual culture of the Muong people.

Leaving the Muong Cultural Space Museum, visitors visit the Monument of Hero Cu Chinh Lan in Mo Hamlet, Binh Thanh Commune. The people of Mo Hamlet are always proud of their homeland, where fierce battles took place with the enemy during the resistance war against French colonialism, and where the heroic tank-destroying feat of Hero Cu Chinh Lan was associated. The monument is also a place to educate the younger generation about traditions. Next, visitors have another interesting experience, which is visiting and experiencing Mo Hamlet - a community tourism destination with unique cultural features of the Muong people.

Ms Tam, a tourist from Hanoi said: I have visited the community tourism site of Xom Mo before, but my stay was not long. This time, the experience program was extended. After the tour guide took us to visit the Muong Cultural Space Museum in the morning, we took a lunch break at Xom Mo so that in the afternoon we could freely explore the natural scenery and learn about the daily life of the local people. We also visited the Cu Chinh Lan Hero Monument, listened to the introduction of heroic memories and participated in many activities with the friendly Muong people. My memorable experience of the destination was the feeling of relaxation, enjoying a night's stay in a stilt house and waking up every morning to see the terraced fields and welcome the sunrise.

In 2023 - 2024, representatives of a number of businesses and travel companies in Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa provinces... participated in the survey team, experiencing new and attractive destinations and tourism products of Hoa Binh.
