Motorbike Tour to Ha Giang

Hanoi Motorcycling to Thac Ba Lake – Vu Linh (180 km)

In the morning, at about 8.00am, we will leave Hanoi for ride along the Red River, through immense ride paddies and the authentic daily life of local people when getting in the countryside area. 

Stop at a local restaurant in Doan Hung Town, we have a nice lunch and then continue riding to Vu Linh, a nice village inhabited by Dao people near Thac Ba Lake. If time permits, we will take a boat trip around the lake to enjoy its beauty. Overnight at homestay and dinner at the village.

Thac Ba Lake – Ha Giang (180 km)

Leaving Thac Ba Lake behind, we will continue the adventure along the lake again, between the lines of palm trees to Ha Giang via National Road 2. Along the way, the scenery will be amazing and make you feel excited.

Arriving in Ha Giang city, we stop for a while to get permission to get in Dong Van Stone Plateau area for few days. Stop at a village of Tay people where we will enjoy dinner and stay overnight.

Ha Giang to the Dong Van Rock Plateau (160 km)

The ride today is mostly on small mountain roads offering incredible beauty. Additionally, we have a chance to conquer some of the best passes here like Ma Pi Leng and Heaven Gate Pass. This is not simply a motorbike adventure but also good chance to learn about how the locals live every day. When we reach town we will have some extra time to wander the ancient streets lined with H’mong homes of clay bricks and tiles roofs built centuries ago. Overnight in hotel.

Dong Van – Bao Lac (110 km)

The morning ride is still along the Stone Plateau. After breakfast, let’s conquer some other beautiful passes until Meo Vac, also where we stop for lunch.

In the afternoon, take motorcycle ride downhill along the river with different view: less rocky and greener area.

Arriving in Bao Lac Town at 5.00pm. Overnight at hotel in Bao Lac.

Bao Lac – Ba Be Lake (150 km)

To save time for a nice boat trip in Ba Be Lake, we will start early at around 8.00am after breakfast. After the first 20km from Bao Lac, we turn to a narrow and bumpy road surrounded by paddies. We also cross some rivers, which is more interesting than crossing some bamboo bridges.

Stop at a village of Tay people near Ba Be Lake for lunch. In the afternoon, take time relaxing in this lake, which is known as one of the biggest natural lakes in Vietnam.

Ba Be Lake – Hanoi (240 km)

Today, we will pack all stuff and then ride head back to the Red river Delta, passing some other villages of Hmong, Dao, Tay and Nung people to get back to Hanoi. Our adventure will finish once arriving in Hanoi before rush hour and we hope that we will have another change to companion together in the next adventures.
